privatemsg is giving extra output

I'm using the privatemsg module. When creating a new private message for any user other than the current one, it shows, for example, for user 111:
New message for 111 [user]
And in the line For it also displays 111 [user]
In other places, the user is displayed correctly. Moreover, the email is sent properly and, importantly, it gets delivered.
