Update Ubercart, which is set up for SMS notifications.

Hello! I'm reaching out to you again because you've helped me several times with questions that I haven't received answers to on the main Drupal site. I have the Ubercart 6.x-2.6 module installed (which hasn't been updated in a long time). The thing is, it's set up for SMS notifications through a trigger in conjunction with the SMS Framework module. In the "available updates" section, it is the only one marked with a red field indicating an urgent update, but I was advised not to update it because it would break the PHP code that was specifically written for the site's needs to notify users after orders. Once, I opened the trigger section (Sending email and SMS to the seller) just to look at the code, and it stopped working, which is very strange, and it had to be fixed and configured again. Can you tell me, if I do update the Ubercart module, will it really lead to losses? And if I don't update it, could there be other types of problems in the future?
